'Ketera', means "making a reservoir" for the celebration of 'Timket'. The three days of Timket celebration starts on Tirr 10 (January19) early afternoon. The Holy Tabots of each church are carried out in slow procession to a river or pool of water accompanied by priests and church choirs chanting hymns. The hymns commemorate the humbleness of Our Lord Eyesus Kristos who walked to the River Jordan to be baptized by his servant, John the Baptist.
Matthew 3:13
"Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him" A special tent is set up where the Holy Tabots reside. The prayer and the chant of priests and church choirs continue long into the night accompanied by drums, the ringing of bells, and the blowing of trumpets."

ጥምቀት, or Epiphany, is a major festival celebrated by Ethiopian Orthodox Christians to commemorate the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River. Held annually on January 19 (or January 20 in leap years), it involves a ceremonial procession of the Tabot (a sacred replica of the Ark of the Covenant) to a nearby water source, followed by an overnight vigil of prayers and hymns. At dawn, the water is blessed, symbolizing the Jordan River, and some believers immerse themselves in renewing their baptism. Timket is a celebration of spiritual renewal, unity, and Ethiopia's rich cultural and religious heritage.
Matthew 3:16
"When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw th Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him."
Tir 12 | January 20
The Holy Church commemorates on Tirr 12 (January 20) the Wedding at Cana of Galilee. The wedding halfway through ran out of wine, which at this time wine was the drink of hospitality to the guests.
The lack of wine was a shame to the bride and groom. The Lord Jesus Christ was present at the wedding, his incarnation was amidst us, as also was his mother Mary was there, too. So when Mary realized that there was no wine, she went to Christ and told him there was no wine but he responded "My hour has not yet come" ( John 2:4). Mary told the servants to do what her son tells them to do. Christ asked the servants to fill 6 jars with water and serve the groom. The groom drank the water that turned into a fine wine.
Christ turning water into wine was the revelation of his divinity.
JOHN 2:11
THIS, THE FIRST OF IS MIRACULOUS SIGNS, JESUS PERFORMED AT CANA IN GALILEE, HE THUS REVEALED HIS GLORY, AND HIS DISCIPLES PUT THEIR FAITH IN HIM.

Aster'eyo - አስተርዮ is a Ge'ez word meaning appearance or manifestation. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church commemorates the death of Our Holy Mother Saint Virgin Mariam. The Apostles commanded that, "all Christians should celebrate her commemoration in the month of Terr; on the day of her death, Terr 21 / January 30. The term 'Aster'eyo' is related more to the fact that God came with thousands of His Holy Angels to comfort Our Holy Mother Virgin Mariam at the time of her death, as is recorded in the Synaxarium. Our Lord did not leave the body of his Holy Motherin this world but brought her with clouds of light into Paradise; the Garden of Delight with Saint John the Divine, There, he laid her down until the time of her resurrection and ascension. With her son Eyesus Kristos, came with thousands of Holy Angles to receive her soul, a great light filled that place. There came forth a beautiful sweet fragrance and a voice came from heaven saying, "Blessed art thou, O blessed Queen of women."
Luke 1:42
“And she spoke out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou amount women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.”
Tir 22 | January 30
The Archangel Saint Uriel is one of the seven leading archangels. Uriel means the "Light of God or the "Fire of God." Our Lord, God has appointed Saint Uriel over thunder, flood, and lightning. This was done on Tir 22 (January 30).
As the main spiritual role of Archangel Uriel is that of the angel who guides the deceased during the Last Judgment, this has drawn the connection between Uriel and the "Raging Fire of God's Judgement." Uriel, also, is regarded as an angel with deep ties to the Earth and humanity, whereas the other archangels primarily fulfill duties in heaven.
Saint Uriel was the one who revealed the wisdom and mystery of heaven to the prophet Enoch. (Enoch 6:1-6) He has is the one who received the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ's precious blood in the cup of light and sprayed it over the world on Lord Jesus Christ's Crucifixion. Saint Uriel is also the one who led Holy Mother Saint Mary and her baby Lord Jesus on her exodus to Egypt and Ethiopia. Furthermore, it was he who gave the cup of wisdom to Prophet Ezra Sutuel and to the Ethiopian Patristic Father Abba Giorgis Zagascha of whom the heavenly mystery and knowledge were hidden but revealed by the command of Holy Mother Saint Virgin Mary.
Most of the Holy Monasteries in our country Ethiopia were built under the leadership of Saint Uriel who prayed for mercy from our Lord to grow crops within the rain and the sun for food. The Holy angel is intermediator between God and mankind to protect and guide us and carryout God's tasks.
According to Holy Orthodox Incarnation Church teaching, Saint Uriel amongst the seven Archangels commemorated on January 30.
